As part of the celebrations to mark CMPC’s 102 years in business, we hosted a talk entitled "Protagonists of a more sustainable future" via zoom and Emol on Thursday 17th March.

The meeting was led by Luis Felipe Gazitúa, President of Empresas CMPC, and Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, General Manager of the company. They were joined by João Cordeiro and Tuukka Sormunen, directors of the Finnish consultancy AFRY, leaders in sustainability and innovation worldwide.

Luis Felipe Gazitúa said that "on this special day for CMPC”, he was sending a greeting to all the company’s partners. “At CMPC we are convinced of the future potential of our forest industry, and we know that we have the answers to meet the needs of a greener and more sustainable world."

During the anniversary commemoration, guests were invited to discuss the broad and diverse opportunities for new developments and solutions from the natural fibers that make up CMPC’s renewable, certified, planation forests.

Francisco Ruiz-Tagle commented that "our objective as a company is to promote and collaborate to strengthen an ecosystem of solutions based on nature, with a long-term vision that we have promoted within our organization through the Beyond program, which includes highly specific projects now in full swing.”

It’s an example of how the company's role goes far beyond developing environmentally-friendly products; CMPC also looks to create opportunities for a more sustainable future, through innovation, technology and bright ideas.
