The Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Shandong Port Group in China allows us to continue improving our customer service and advancing our Net Zero goals.

At the beginning of June, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Shandong Port Group, the parent company of the Qingdao port in China, to enhance customer service and advance our Net Zero and digitalization goals. The signing of this bilateral agreement symbolizes CMPC's ongoing commitment to sustainability, innovation, and building strong relationships in the global community.

Additionally, aiming to further promote the creation of a green hydrogen ecosystem, during the event, CMPC organized and led a discussion between the Chilean Embassy, ProChile, and the top leaders of the Shandong Port Group on opportunities for collaboration in clean energy and port infrastructure development for the tricontinental country.

José Tomás Corthorn, Managing Director of CMPC Asia and the leader of the event on behalf of our Company, emphasized that the Qingdao port has been an essential gateway for our company in China and, due to our growth plans, it will become even more important. The Shandong Port Group and CMPC share the vision that maritime transportation should become increasingly sustainable, and both have ambitious goals.

"Aligned with the transition to sustainable fuels, the Shandong Port Group will start building green methanol refueling stations. Chile, in turn, has an ambitious plan to become a major exporter of hydrogen-based fuels. Therefore, to accelerate the process by which the world adopts such technologies, we organized a bilateral meeting where discussions were initiated to work along these lines. This will benefit CMPC because, with cleaner transportation, we are closer to achieving our Net Zero goal," added José Tomás Corthorn.

This agreement is aligned with the initiatives of our 2030 Strategy: 7.1 "Optimize value proposition for each segment and/or channel," under the Customer pillar; and 9.1 "Net Zero," under the Sustainability pillar.
