22 Feb 2024

In the 2024 edition of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, our company ranked within the top 1% of the best-evaluated companies globally. Furthermore, it led the category measuring the global paper and forest industry.

More than 9.400 companies worldwide were evaluated in the 2024 edition of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, one of the most important corporate sustainability indices globally, where companies are assessed based on their performance criteria in economic, environmental, and social areas.

In this ranking, CMPC positioned itself as one of the two Latin American companies within the top 1% globally. It is noteworthy that CMPC is the only Chilean firm considered in this top percentile of the index. Additionally, CMPC was recognized as the most sustainable company in the "Paper & Forest Products" category, competing with 38 other companies in the industry, including Suzano S.A in Brazil, Mondi plc in the UK, UPM-Kymmene Oyj in Finland, and Fedrigoni SpA in Italy.

For our General Manager, Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, this recognition "sets a very important precedent for the Company and its collaborators, motivating us to continue working on one of the pillars for our operation: sustainability. We will continue our efforts to make future operations even more sustainable and friendly not only to the environment but also to communities and in the financial aspect. This is with the goal of being a responsible and committed company in all our areas of operation".

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook recognizes companies worldwide across various industries for their sustainability policies. There are categories related to telecommunications, food, energy, finance, among many others. To be included in this significant index, companies are evaluated with similar criteria. Those within the top 15% within their industry, and whose score does not have a difference greater than 30% from the top-ranked, are included in the Sustainability Yearbook.
