In line with our objective of reducing water use by 25% by 2025 in our operations, during the month of February, the Brazilian cellulose plant presented a new historical record for water use, with 24.41 m3/Admt, the lowest recorded, surpassing the previous record of 24.99 m3/Admt, recorded in July 2023. To achieve this result, the Guaíba Unit created a work plan that included the creation of the Internal Water Use Commission, made up of professionals representing all areas and responsible for managing the topic, who meet monthly to review use trends of water, propose improvement actions and monitor the main investments in projects on the topic. Furthermore, Bruna Giacomin Bof, Environmental Manager at the Guaíba Unit, added that the BioCMPC project brought new cutting-edge technologies that made it possible to significantly reduce the use of water in line 2 of the factory. "We are very happy with this new record, which reaffirms our commitment to the environment and the sustainability of our operations. Now, we will seek to continue reducing our water use in the coming months and even years, and we hope that this experience can also be implemented in other CMPC factories, which will allow us to continue meeting our goal of reducing water use by 25% by 2025 in our operations", stated Bruna.
